Author: My old school pal has shown up in my life recently and we have been going out for a couple of beers’ together. Problem is he thinks he is trendy, cool and witty but instead is driving me mad! What can i do?
A few examples:
1. Throughout the 80s’ & 90s’ he had a very offensive moustache. (think Magnum P.I and Allo, Allo).
2. He wears tight t-shirts and a thumb ring. (He’s 42, has a bald spot and a beer-belly).
3. He dyes his hair and uses shampoo for brunettes’. (it’s true).
4. Has a tattoo of his ex-wife on his leg and tells everybody it’s Jim Morrison of the "DOORS" band.
5. Visits the beauty parlour for a "back, sack and crack" waxing treatment, and feels compelled to describe it to everyone he meets!
6. Uses a such a variety of perfumes and anti-wrinkle creams that when he goes out he smells and looks like a cross between a hooker and a Borneo orangatang!
7. Believes he’s a "looker" even when girls he went to school with tell him that he scared them!

Seriously, if he bothers you that much, just don’t hang out with him any more. Make up excuses until he gets the hint and stops calling. If you like him and don’t want to do that, then you need to find a way to gently tell him he’s being excessive. Don’t do it all on one night, mind you, but drop hints such as "whoa, you’re cologne is a bit strong tonight, dude!" or "um, you really shouldn’t tell everyone about your waxing, it freaks them out". Try to act like the good friend that is giving constructive criticism and not like you’re offended by it. Sort of the "if I had toilet paper on my shoe I’d want you to tell me" deal.

i got a good laugh from your description of this dude but his life is really a sad one. he is not as pleased with himself as he puts on. all you can do is stay away from him.

he’s my dad and i have try to tell hem that bing cool is not to do wot every one els is doing its to b hem self ?
then i started to think when he was hem self it was not much better so i now think he is going 4 the gay way of life.

when i was 16 i was going to b a barber and had to do hairdrssing to get that qualifications at this time of life we were not talking ill not get into that, but we had not ben talking for about a 7 months then i got a phone call and i z ”hi” and the person on the other end of the phone (my dad) asked ARE YOU GAY then i told hem ”NO” and he put the phone down and i didnt talk to hem for about 12 months after that lol
so i think he is better bing gay. this z now i have to do his hair (he got’s it coloured the never of the colour if any mad people r on this is 77/0)! his girlfriend dos not get her hair done as much as hem . WOT IS THAT ALL ABOUT ?
he thinks he good looking well he was a good looking guy when he was young and at the min he is ok for his age but girl in there 20’s dont look at hem like a sex icon the way he think they do ? more like an old pervert lol
i dont understand the waxing ok mayb a guy should wax there back if a girl dos not like it but waxing ur sack is just taking thiings way to far i dont think he is doing it for his girlfriend i think he likes it ?????
now the tight T-shirts this is all part of the maddnes he thinks by putting on a tight T-shirt it is sexy but what he dos not know is that he is the only one thinking that ? this is part of not letting go he needs to move on and tell hem self that he is not 20 or even 30 ?
and the anti-wrinkle cream is only the tip of the iceberg he is saving money up to get surgery an eye left?
i think as a son and as u are a friend we should look out 4 hem in his maddens and incompetent view of the world
